• Springtime Book Donations

Between Netflix’s “Tidying Up with Marie Kondo” and the season change this month, many people have been turning their attention to their homes and spring cleaning. If you’ll be cleaning up your home and getting rid of items that no longer spark joy in your home, we thank you for considering us for your donation of children’s books!

Donated books make up the majority of the books we give to children for free through our many locations and partnerships. We are always grateful for donations, big and small, but we do have some guidelines that we ask everyone to check out before giving us your books.

Our aim is to give the children we serve books that are of the same quality as the books we give as presents to the special children in our lives. We respectfully decline:

    • Books that are in poor condition – torn pages or covers, excessive writing, mildew
    • Books that once belonged to a library
    • Books in language other than English and French
    • Teen and young adult fiction
    • Text books
    • Magazines
    • Audio books
    • Dictionaries
    • Encyclopedias

If you have some books that would be great for us, we have drop-off partners located throughout the city for small donations (20 books or less). Click here for a list of those partners.

If you have a large donation of books, please get in touch with us, and we’ll make arrangements. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to pick up books at this time.
